I am sending Optical SPDIF to the Digital in which locks successfully to the input but I can´t change the Digital Out clock source , it only says Default which to me equals to internal...however I want it to say "External" or "Digital In".
Now when bringing back the digital out from the mac pro to my Pro Tools HD system it crackles meaning it is not locking to the Digital in clock source.

Please don´t respond if you are not familiar with professional audio , syncing different devices with BNC 75 ohm word clock cables etc.

I am on Mac Pro 2010 10.8.4

Nobody I know in pro audio uses the Mac Pro digital i/o. And, yes, WC is great on BNC, but no Mac has WC i/o, so I don't know how it will help you here. :)

Can you clock your external device to the Mac clock present on the digital out? Does your DAW offer you control over clock source?
