I'd like that because it would mean a darker morning when it's now light at 4:30am or so in June but others might not agree.

Now I'm in London, I wouldn't mind but it would make life miserable for those further north. In Scotland it'll be getting dark by 4pm in the winter and would have sunset at nearer 11pm in the winter. And it wouldn't get light in the mornings until closer to 9am. In Aberdeen, you'd be looking at more like 9.30-10am before sunrise which in a pretty agricultural area would be a bit rough...

Just buy blackout blinds for the summer ;)

Extra hour in bed? my sleep times, my whole life times are too dynamic. Sometimes I get 4 hours, sometimes 12 hours. Everything I do runs at different times. I'd like conformity and stability, but I wouldn't too.

I can't live without blackout blinds! I found myself sellotaping flat pieces of cardboard over my aunts window frames when I was looking after her house over the summer just so I could enforce my midnight oil burning sessions on her house. Any shard of light and I'm up.

Why not England/Wales move to CET, and Scotland stay as it is?

It's funny, because I've heard many a joke made to tourists about "make sure you have your passport on the train up as you'll get it checked as you leave Carlisle". My old manager fiddled with his watch as he was on the train back up to Edinburgh, and persuaded an English manager who was with him that he was changing his watch to "Scottish Time". :p It would be crazy if that actually happened. :D

Stinking daylight saving and stinking losing an hour and stinking everything and stinking Blue Velvet. Mutter mutter mutter. I think I'm going to go off and be mad in the troubleshooting forums now.
