Hi,

Is it possible to copy your hard drive to let's say, a ssd drive, and replace it in my macbook pro, so that the system just continues like nothing ever happened?

(i hope you can understand what i'm trying to say:))

cool, thanks!

so, how do I hook up my new bought ssd so I can make the clone?

also, I haven't bought one yet, is there a thread or guide to help me make a choice? Sorry for the many questions, but i have answered some myself;)

thanks in advanced

Put the SSD into an external enclosure for 2.5" S-ATA HDDs and connect it via USB or Firewire to your MBP and start the application of your choice and select your internal HDD as SOURCE and the external SSD as target. Then switch the drives and there you go.

I have an OCZ Vertex 2 60GB and am still happy with it.
Maybe MRoogle can help you find some threads, as I don't have any SSD recommendation thread in my "frequently given answers" list.

Thanks, i read an article about the vertex 2 the other day. They seem great and affordable, i think i'll go with that.

Thanks for all the help everybody!
