Hi,

I recently just purchased a 15" MBPr and I want to clone my 15" MBP's desktop to it. I know it's better to start fresh but my MBP is only a couple of months old and I have a lot of files there. From my research some suggested using Carbon Copy Cloner but some say the retina doesn't support CCC... i was wonder if anyone had any experience with this and could suggest the best option. Thanks

Create a Time Machine copy of the classic MBP then just restore the Time Machine into the new rMB. It'll take some time, but you'll get a complete duplicate of what you had before.

Awesome thanks! lol didn't know why I didn't think of this before. Anything funky I should watch out for on the retina? I literally just got it.

You can also have the Genius Bar make a direct transfer cable via Thunderbolt cable, if your old computer is so equipped.

You could of course do this yourself but why buy a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable to use once? :)
