After executing this method of cloning because my G5 will not boot from the internal drive (http://forum.maccast.com/lofiversion/index.php/t15167.html), the terminal recognized both the internal and external drive that I am cloning to, however once it began the "restoring" process in the prompt, it stopped with the message: "asr: couldn't restore - Input/output error"

Does anyone have ANY idea what this means. I have a bad feeling the drive is dead and I will have to wipe it clean.

Can anyone help me figure this out. Thanks!

I have tried that once already with the Tiger install disc and it failed to repair. I am trying it a second time and waiting for a response...stay tuned.
