Is there a functional equivalent to Carbon Copy Cloner for Windows 7? We have to upgrade our computer to Windows 10 but I'd like to clone the hard drive before doing the Win 10 install.

Thanks. It seems to be a Mac OS app and not a Windows app. I need to clone a hard drive on a Windows 7 computer (not a Mac with Boot Camp).

Try Macrium Reflect . There is/was a free version that I've used a few times . Not a lot of bells and whistles , but it'll clone your drive .

I use PartedMagic to do my clones.
It takes the operating system out of the equation and runs on a USB drive.
So there is nothing to install on the OS and then later try to uninstall cleanly. You just get a clean clone from OS to OS.
No worries about the OS writing to the drive during the cloning process or anything messing up during the process.

I used several other Windows cloning apps in the past and several installed other pieces of bloatware, spyware, or wanted subscription payments to unlock features.
But I do cloning fairly regularly and found a consistent software from machine to machine.

Again if you need to do a full hard drive clone and swap this would be my top suggestion.
If you want something to run in the background while using the OS, find something else.
