is there any way that i cna close a window that i have minimized in the dock by just like right clicking on it or something, kinda like windows. i hate having to open it again and then find the red X and close it.

I don't remember seeing this in Panther but in Tiger, control-clicking (or right-clicking) on the minimised Finder window gives you two options: open and close.

Unfortunately it's a per-application thing. For example, minimized Finder (since Panther I think) and Word windows offer a close option if you click-and-hold (or right-click) their dock icons, but Safari windows don't.

Yeah, I wish it was a system-wide thing. There have been many times where I've wanted to close a minimized window.
