cMP With Flashed 7970 & Dell 2715q

Hi,

I have a flashed 7970 in my cMP and I'm looking at upgrading my monitor to a Dell 2715q. Does anyone have any experience of using this monitor with the above set up?

If so I'd love to hear your experiences!

Hi,

i have a 7970 Mac Edition in my cMP (4.1 flashed to 5.1) and a Dell 2715q. The MacPro does not geht beyond the startup chime if the Display ist turned on. Probably the EFI is not 4k ready. If you turn on the display after the chime it boots up without problems.

Sometimes i a get a garbled screen for a second or so, maybe it's a problem with the driver (OSX 10.10), others suggest a better cable is needed.

Isn't the 2715q a 30Hz screen? A place local to me has one on sale right now and I'd like to get it but not at 30Hz

Wrong. The P2715Q does 60Hz when connected via DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort as long as your video card supports DisplayPort 1.2.

When connected via HDMI, it will run at 30Hz.
