hey this is my first ever post, and i made my account specifically for this reason... so please... someone out there, help me by god!!!

alright... i got my MB in october 2007, and it ran great for about a year and half, but just recently, its been dogging and lagging so much, its bugging the crap out of me to the point where i borrowed my friends external HD and put all my important stuff on there, and erased and reinstalled mac OSX on there, and it still behaves the same way. my specs are in my signature so let me explain...

ill be running just itunes, ichat, and safari watching youtube videos or something, and the youtube vids just start skipping, and then the sound gets all distorted like it sounds like its underwater gargling. then i shut the macbook, reopen it, and its fine for about 2 or so minutes and then it does it again. or ill be listening to music via itunes, and reading some forums or the news or something, and when i scroll down, the music skips. its really annoying. i rarely get beach balling, but safari, or firefox, or itunes takes an eternity to load. and my fan allways seems like its on, and running hot as hell.

cpu user runs about 63% to 70% all the time
system about 15%

memory: active- .98 gb to 1gb
wired: 319 mb

temps: allways around 150 F or a little higher.

fans exaust- 6192 rpm

as you can see... my computer is a beast right now, and im not even pushing it that hard to preform!! i got the fan controll utility, and it doesnt seem to do anything for the temp. someone out there must have a great solution for me!! as i stated before, i reformatted like a week ago, and its still the same!! please please please help meeee!!!! thanks in advance!

download and run onyx and see if that helps any

it might still be indexing your drive since you recently reformatted also
open activity monitor and post what processes are using up the cpu

Can we have screenshots of activity monitor? Especially the system memory tab down at the bottom?

two shots, the top of the monitor, then scrolled down. let me know what to do. k thanks.

here it is.

flash player is eating 75% of your cpu for some reason. Also, it is the old powerpc version. In activity monitor, click flash player and hit quit process. Download and install the new version of flash and reboot.

flash player

the flash player that im using there is a game called N- the way of the ninja. its a game. and i like to play it. lol. what else should i do now? what about the fan issue? and the heat?

install the flash player i linked and the game will not take up as much resources. Your flash player atm is powerpc based which means it is being emulated to run on an intel machine. That is hte source of your problem.

what about my fan and the temp being ridiculous?

The flash player is causing your computer to run hot because it has to emulate the PowerPC version, so you need to update the flash player to an intel version, that will solve the heat and fan issues.

I refuse to believe that a Mac has any slowdown what so ever. Try finally fast.com  ahhh, i like beer

Seriously, installing a new version of flash won't hamper your ability to play that game. It will just relieve your poor MacBook of emulating a PPC and choking on its deathbed. And maybe upgrading your memory (RAM) will help a bit. But the main problem is the flash.

If the new version is already installed, perhaps Rosetta is turned on for that app, or the new version isn't replacing the Flash Player program that goes along with the game.

Hey OP, do you understand what the problem is?

You have the wrong version of Flash installed. It is killing your processor.

Upgrade your hard drive and can't you put more ram in it, too?

alright, i downloaded the flash player 10, and when i open the game, it still says flash player 7. how do i make the game run on flash player 10 and not 7? i dont want to loose my progress.

PUSH DOWN THE ON BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS OR PRESS THE RESTART BUTTON" all the time and the screen freezes and wont let me do ****... a grey square comes up in the middle of the screen and pisses me off... i would do a screen shot... but it wont ****in let me.. someone please help me!!! give me some serious advice.. like some honest **** here.... ok thanks!!

Plenty of helpful advice has already been offered.

Your temperatures and fans are going to be high when your CPUs are so heavily taxed.

Its as slow as hell because

THE HARD DRIVE FAILED...
The same thing happened to my moms Macbook Pro she bought in 2007. It will cost 130 dollars to change your hard drive to 500 GB! You might save a hell of a lot of money upgrading. People will transfer your files. HOPE THAT HELPS:apple:
