It's so irritating that people can't discuss news sites without interjecting their politics.

I think the number one question will be for websites is: Are they recognizing the iPad Safari as a mobile device or a PC? I want the real CNN site on my iPhone, not the mobile site. If we're getting the full site (haven't got iPad set up yet), hope it's not 'improved' soon to be the mobile site!

*rolls eyes* Come on. At least CNN tries to be moderate. It's supposed to be the Dr. Pepper of news.

ESPN asks you which you want (mobile or full) and there is a button to remember your choice.

CNN, Fox News, BBC and MSNBC seem to look great on the iPad and the HTML5 video player seems to be nice and snappy. Al Jazeera though seems to be still forcing the mobile version.

As much as I agree or disagree with one news channels slant (and lets be honest they are ALL biased in one direction or another) its best to get info from multiple sources. :)

CNN's website has been redesigned and I actually like it a lot. Before I never used to go there. Now I at least check it daily. Seems to load up extremely fast.

And please give me a break. Fox news is the most sensationalist crap I have ever seen on a TV or computer monitor. All politics aside, it's just pure sensationalist crapola.

CNN is the most balanced of any of the news networks. They go out of the way to present both sides on any given issue, not to mention giving lots of time to opposing viewpoints from their viewers through Facebook and Twitter. They also have a paid staff of both liberal leaning and conservative leaning contributors and analyst who have round table debates on topics virtually every day of the week.

Not sure what else one could expect them to do and I look forward to viewing their site on my iPad when I eventually get one!

There's no such thing as an unbiased news network. It's more a function of picking a network that is compatible with your political views. Any network's attempt at "balanced" reporting is an illusion. It's human nature.

That being said, CNN has done a great job on their site. FOX News site is also very readable on the iPad.

Not on the video page, but the main times page. Videos for instance on the front page do play in the browser since they are in Quicktime. I just watched a video a minute ago on the times homepage
