Having to buy cable TV service to use this is lame. I won't to use my Apple TV / iPad / Mac to REPLACE the need to pay for cable service. If I have to pay for cable TV in order to watch TV on my iPad that just defeats the purpose.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/8J2)

This is an excellent example of why TV and Internet companies should be totally seperate. (ESPN3.com is another.)

And why not DirectTV? The HBO App works there.

And will this work if I'm outside the country? Or only from a US IP address? I hate that when I travel I can't watch content I paid for.

I was able to get live CNN TV and CNN Headline news, and I'm on DirecTV. However, when I shut it down, it the app continued to run in the background, making the iPhone hot and burning up the battery charge. I had to shut it down manually from the hidden dock and all returned to normal - except I needed to recharge my phone.

A mixed blessing.

okay, what the hell.

first everyone gets access to the awesomeness that is HBO GO, EXCEPT Time Warner Cable subscribers. Now, CNN brings us the fantastic news that they're offering live streaming but... wait... everyone BUT TWC subscribers get it.

I'm really annoyed, and as a TWC subscriber want to know what I can do to get these guys to approve the use of apps like these. It's the future of media, why hold it back from your honest paying subscribers?

free market chief, you know what to do
