Not for nothing, but they're right.
1. They're bad for our brains
2. While we're busy on our phones, we're ignoring the world around us.
3. We're also ignoring one other.
4. They're ruining our relationships.
5. They promote FOMO ("fear of missing out") syndrome
6. We have come to need constant validation.
7. We're expected to be available for work 24-7.
Also the title of this thread is a bit clicky-baity, the cnn article states: 7 ways the iPhone has made life worse, not that the iPhone made our life worse. Perhaps I'm splitting hairs but I can see the downsides but there are also upsides.

Shouldn't the title for the thread be: "A guest editorial on CNN.com says that...."

The editorial starts with:

Kara Alaimo, an assistant professor of public relations at Hofstra University, is the author of "Pitch, Tweet, or Engage on the Street: How to Practice Global Public Relations and Strategic Communication." She was spokeswoman for international affairs in the Treasury Department during the Obama administration. Follow her on Twitter @karaalaimo. The opinions expressed in this commentary are hers.

Should be called "6 ways I externalize blame for my faults & 1 bad representation of mediocre research."

That's it, I'm switching to Android!

CNN reputation is gone, so they have to go the Forbes/Buzzfeed way.

When are we going to have journalism again?

CNN are bitter because due to iPhone we can all get real news info rather than the info they feed ;) They have lost control and they hate it.

Here(-ish)
1. Of course this article is for smartphones, but iPhones makes for a catchier title.

2. “Mission accomplished!” for CNN, as they’re getting clicks and we’re talking about the article.
