Concerning cocktails, I am really easy to please. A nice Caipirinha (non-alcoholic) is all I need to pass some good hours with my friends. I don't like the general taste of alcohol in cocktails, so that list is bound to be pretty short.

Gin Fizz:
1/3 Gas water + 1/3 Gin + 1/3 lemon juice, sugar if you want, and that's it. Yeah, I'm boring.

i'll have to go with the Pan-Galactic-Gargle-Blaster.

on earth, you used to be able to get one at Spiders in Hull, England.

don't know if it's still there though. Jaffa Cake? can you help me here?

How the heck do you make a non-alcoholic caipirinha? Without the cachaca, what is left besides lime juice and sugar?

I like old-fashioneds as well as Manhattans (with cherry juice, as lee pointed out earlier) in the fall/winter. For summertime I like more refreshing drinks like margaritas, caipirinhas, and vodka/sparkling lemonades.

Worst drink ever: prairie fire (the tequila and tabasco variety).

For the real bling-bling crowds now, Krug has released a 100% Pinot Noir based Champagne from a single-vineyard source that only costs $3,000 a bottle .
That's not too bad, Bowmore 40 goes for $12,000+.
Nowadays, I stick to wine exclusively, 16-18% alc, late harvest Zinfandels which pack a potent enough kick for me.
16-18% is where I like my beer. :D
About £6 ($12) a drink so not too pricey either.
That was my entire bill at the Christmas party at this bar. And I had 4 very very good beers!
I don't normally drink very heavily, nor very often. I like a good London Dry gin, like Bombay Sapphire, although Beefeater is acceptable. Gin and tonic for the former, Tom Collins for the latter.
Tanqueray Rangpur is by far the best for G&Ts, followed closely by No. 10, Tanqueray, then Beefeater (those two need lime with it, I consider it optional with the former two). Not a fan of Sapphire personally, but I have tried Hendrick's, and it was pretty darn good.
However, when it's "on", I will destroy your family and eat your kids. I'll lay out a line of Canadian Prairie Fires as far as the eye can see, and they will be the instrument of your doom.

A Prairie Fire is a shot of hard liquor and hot sauce. A Canadian Prairie fire is Jack and Tabasco Sauce in a 1:1 ratio. I'm a lumberjack, baby. After I'm done with you, I'm going to go chop down a great oak with my bare hands, and use to to fight a polar bear.

My great-grandfather was a lumberjack, you're on. :D

worst drink 1: I inhaled a doubleshot of evan williams whiskey straight to my lungs (combination of laughing and trying to take a shot of whiskey), which resulted in embarrassing "swimming pool choking" and alot of stomach emptying.

worst drink 2: after a heavy night of drinking with the boys, a bartender insisted on giving me these little "test tube drinks" for free. After downing about 4 of them, I lost almost all the money I spend on booze that night in the nearest toilet. :(

best drink: crown royal with a melon ball boons farm chaser :)

I guess I am more of a "polar opposite" of what Jessica likes to drink. Some of the cheaper stuff doesn't taste too bad when you know you didn't spend 50$ on a fifth of it. :D

Maybe it had to make room for a bypass... :D

I don't now the exact receipe for this (Caiprinha Drive) right now, but I can let you know if you like.

richardjames? Is it just coincidence that you have the same name as Aphex Twin?

Aphex Twin on Amazon

Yes, it is. But that picture is my avatar on a few other forums.

That bar has a mighty long list of beers on that website. Looks pretty cool! For £6 you don't get much where I live.

I also agree with you on the G&T front. I quite like Hendricks as well but most of my friends find it tastes too much like medicine. I've got a nice Hendricks box set for my birthday in the past and it has a cool book with the history of the brand and some funky cocktails.

Ah, you know your stuff. Tanqueray Rangpur is a little too subtle for my tastes, but certainly a fine choice. It doesn't need lime since it's distilled with it :3 Next time I'm at a pub, if they have it I'll try it as a Tom Collins, might work better for me as a mixer.

I think Bombay Sapphire is a hit or miss gin. Either you like the complex taste, or you prefer a more subtle alternative.

Naked. The forest. When the thermostat strikes twenty below. Instead of shot glasses we use bear traps.

Worst - water!

Add ouzo to that, it's even worse.

Another worst: Campari soda. Yuck.

Best: Real Russian top shelf vodka. Delicious. Goes down straight and smooth.

Other than that, enjoying a German beer or nice Italian wine is always nice.

I really haven't ever tried anything "unusual", but I did get so drunk one time it took three of my friends to help get me out of Bennigan's, across the sidewalk and into a waiting car someone else was driving. I mean, dude, I was so fitshaced I couldn't even stand under my own body weight.

Good times, man. Good times.

vodka/tobascco shot. on a dare.

Bit of trivia for you. The bottle that Tobasco Sauce ships in has remained essentially identical the original one that the company founder started using. Now why this is important is that Tobasco came out shortly after the Civil War, and due to glass being in extremely short supply, the bottles originally used were actually perfume bottles reclaimed from a local garbage dump. Other than making larger and smaller versions, the design has remained almost unchanged.

Worst? A Caipiroska. Basically fill a highball glass with vodka and add a few slices of lime and what seems like half a pound of sugar, and ice. It tastes fairly good, but puts you under the table reeeeeeally fast because it doesn't taste like you're drinking 6-10oz of pure vodka.

worst- Budweiser and all their "flavors".... its not close to beer.
best - anything with vodka (a good/top shelf vodka):p

I payed attention last night, and the secret ingredient that replaces the cachara is - ginger ale!

This reminds me of a story. A friend of mine went into the cocktail bar I mentioned above and asked for a spicy mojito (which is usually a mojito with ginger ale). However, instead of using ginger ale they took a cocktail stick and dipped it into a mysterious bottle of red stuff then very quickly dipped it in and out of his drink (for no more than half a second or so). I had a sip and it was like my face was on fire :D No idea what they used but it was spicy as hell!

A friend and I drank Blue Lagoon for a night once, we we're sick blue. It's one of those drinks where you can't really taste the alcohol, so you have loads then it hits you like a train all at the same time.

Funny story actually, we we're sharing a hotel room (2 singles, before you get any ideas) and that night my friend managed to spit from the door (Must have been, 20 feet) into the bin at the other side of the room, while wasted, in the [pitch black] dark. Amazing.

Also, Flaming Green Absinthe with the sugar and all the trimmings is one you have to try.
