I have a iPhone 5s, Never had a battery change. Ive downloaded the coconut battery app to check its condition.

What does the 54% in red mean ? Does it mean i should change the battery ?

Would this improve the speed of the phone ? i believe apple throttle older phones with the new software upgrade now ?
Also would it make the battery last longer with the replacement.
I currently get around 3-4 days on standby as i don't really use this phone.

With that little use I would save my money for a new phone when you want one. 3 days is still great standby time.

Can’t answer the throttling question. You’d have to run benchmarks at different battery percentages to see if its happening

Hardly costs much to replace the battery. I can do it myself. I just use this as a spare phone but if its only giving my 50% battery then might swell change it for £15 new battery.

Can you recommend a app to do benchmarks ?

Time for a new battery. These batteries are designed for around 500 cycles at 80% original capacity.

Your 5s is not being throttled. A new battery will give you longer standby time, but not higher performance.

Your 5s will not be throttled by Apple due to a weak battery. Only iPhone 6 and later are affected. From Apple:

"Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions. We've now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future."

I'll be changing my battery in the new year.
Anyone recommend a supplier for a genuine battery in UK ?
