    1) Are those gold/shiny leaves (or bird like debris) normal? What the heck are they supposed to be? ...or is that a glitch I'm getting? Bizarre, can't quite get the point of what they could be. They seem to fly around like leaves or debris in the wind....othertimes they look like birds taking off.

    2) Is there any point to the 9600 in this game whatsoever? I usually run it for games w/ decent graphics just for the heck of it....but one day I forgot and ran CoD4 w/ the 9400 and didn't really notice any difference at all. It ran fine and the graphics were just as good (as far as I could tell w/o doing an A-B). I have no idea what the frame rate difference was.

Those are usually floating newspaper shards or leaves, it's normal.

I have no idea about your second question though. Remember to have your laptop plugged in when using the 9600, you'll get better performance than when on low power. I wouldn't leave it plugged in constantly, as this can damage the battery, but give it a go, you might find it runs smoother.

1)Yes, that is normal. It's supposed to be like a reflection or something. :)

    2) Well, I'm sure there's a difference. Are you running the Aspyr import of CoD4 for Mac OS X? Because if so, you'll notice, when you switch your graphic card, the CoD4 says that it's optimizing for your graphic card's spec. And you'll notice that the CoD4 itself dumbed down the graphic details when you're using the 9400M

    G'luck, and enjoy :)

With the 9600 turn up the res and settings and wth the 9400 turn the graphics down.

Also, in regards to question #2, I think that COD4 automatically adjusts the graphics based on your hardware, so it will run equally smoothly either way. I have run it on both cards, and the performance is exactly the same. That said, the graphics are notably better with the 9600 (automatically: I don't manually adjust anything).
