Cod4 MW from mac app store-can it play with PCs?

can the call of duty 4 modern warfare from the mac app store multiplayer with PCs....my friend and I just discovered it can't be done online, correct??

but can they play via LAN???

CoD4 should work fine with PC players, both LAN and online.
