The best, in my opinion, is Turkish coffee. Yum.
*shudder* Had Turkish coffee while in Greece this summer. Texture isn't an issue... but the flavor... tasted almost, moldy to me.
Peet's coffee.
*drool* I <3 Peet's. No, I really do. I even have a shirt w/ their logo on it.

I'm guessing if you don't have regular access to Peet's you might have missed the Ethiopian Super Natural (it's different from the Ethiopian Fancy they typically carry) in September/ October. It was amazing! It smelled and tasted faintly of blueberries. So scrumptious! It's that one coffee that has made me start drinking drip over espresso.

I don't like bitter drinks.
I feel like good coffee shouldn't be bitter (at least most beans and roasts). That said, there's quite a bit of sugar in Red Bulls, I'm sure if you used as many grams of sugar in a cup of coffee it wouldn't be bitter anymore, either. ;)

At risk of betraying my downmarket taste in literature... ;)

...in The Pillars of Hercules, Paul Theroux had absolutely nothing good to say about the food and drink in Greece as opposed to Turkey. Some of my colleagues who holiday there say the same thing. I've never been to either but feel like sharing this for some unaccountable reason.

As any Turk will tell you, the only half-decent food and drink in Greece was imported by the Turks.

I promise I won't tell Alfie.

:D I was waiting for someone to say that... ;) I loves me some BV.

I also had Turkish coffee in Turkey, at Ephesus, and didn't care much for the flavor there either.

I love me a nice coffee, but I have been doing a pretty good job staying away from the stuff. I have noticed that when I drank a cup or 2 every day at work, I would get really, really tired after awhile. Stupid caffeine wearing off! Now I just stick to tea, for the most part, and I find myself much more awake- I think my body has stopped depending on the caffeine.

Coffee- light and sweet, please. French vanilla is awesome

Tea- anything, preferably a nice English tea. I'm no expert, but I do drink a lot of Boddington's (I think it's called) and I love it.

I also LOVE me a nice espresso or a nice cappuccino. Mmmm.... cappuccino is the best.

Now I miss Italy. :(

That tea that comes in a yellow can? Has quite a kick to it, doesn't it?

Sorry, if you haven't tasted Colombian coffee, you've been drinking some other black stuff that's not coffee :D

Fama de América is by far the best I've had. I tried like 8-9 different types of coffee early this year, and nothing came even close to what I'm used to

I don't drink coffee - the caffeine gives me the jitters and I like to limit the amount of drugs I intake to the occasional wine or beer. I drink tea (without caffeine) but that's about it. Many people I know seem to drink coffee to stay awake, however I prefer natural sugars such as those in orange juice and the like.

But to each their own of course. :)

off the tracks, best coffee (pure taste, not bitter) I've had was on a cruise ship. The waiter told me the secret was the coffee cow they had below decks. I think he may have been yanking my chain.

Second best is at Pea Soup Anderson's on I5 in CA. Although that one might just be a response to the smell from the cow pens... After you drive by those, anything to take the smell out...
