Hey there. I am the creator of Coherence.

Coherence is a relatively simple app that allows you to turn websites into applications on OS X 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10. It is $2.49, with a free demo available on our website, however the demo hasn't been updated in quite a while and is just to get the gist.

Coherence is unique from similar apps because it uses Chrome as a backend as opposed to Safari or some form of Webkit.

We recently launched Coherence 2.0, a major update with the most significant change being that it now includes its own instance of Chrome, as opposed to using the users main instance of Chrome. By doing this, we will be able to manipulate Chrome to add many new features in the future without interfering with the users main experience.

I'm actively developing Coherence and would love to hear feedback and feature requests.

    Latest version is 2.1

Purchased and like it. Keep up the good work.

Is there any way to change or rename the menu bar from Chrome to the name of the created "app?"

    Thanks.

    Hey tmf3lehigh,

So, the way Coherence 1 used to work was the application told Chrome how to set up the App, as it still does, but it told the application that the instance of Chrome it should use was located in the users Applications folder.

Because of the fact it used the users main instance, we couldn't make any manipulations to Chrome, and couldn't do things such as changing the name of the app.

In Coherence 2, as mentioned above, one of the biggest changes is that the Application now uses an instance of Chrome located in Coherence's contents folder. The theory is that we can now manipulate Chrome to do things such as changing the app to the right name, but that is a whole other project on it's own. We do plan on doing it, but it will take some time.

    Glad you are enjoying!
