I am running on OSX Lion on a Mac Mini that I migrated from a silver G4 tower which in turn was migrated from a blue G4 tower. All this time I have a had a collection of wallpapers that I have rotate through on my desktop. This is the first time in several years that I wanted to update the folder with new pics. Problem is that while the files and folders show up in the system settings on both the Mini and silver G4 the folder and all the contents do not show up in searchlight. I check invisible, rebuilt the index and nothing seems to help. I am not able at the moment to dig out the Blue tower. Someone said they may be cached somewhere. Is there a way to try and retrieve them?

If you've used Time Machine then it might be in there somewhere or in dropbox (cloud storage) -- free.

If you search Time Machine use the search window to "find it" more quickly rather than "time" on the side...
