devilot said:Sigh. Where were you a few years back?!
A relative from Taiwan visited my family a few years back and was shocked-- after listening to my dad speak all these years, she thought that California only had two schools-- Cal and Stanfurd.
I went to Cal right outta high school and was miserable (love the area, the food, the shopping-- but didn't connect with anybody and let's face it, Berkeley isn't famous for undergrad, it's a graduate school). I've been puttering around trying to figure things out and I think I'm going to transfer to UCSC (amazing Feminist Studies program and art program).
Yeah, Berkeley is crap for art. Have you taken the Female Sexuality De-Cal? It is an amazing class. I can't tell you how often I wished I was a woman during that course just so I could get more out of it. But I was content to be the quiet, unobtrusvie male in the classroom. (Yes, I also took the Male counterpart first and got a lot out of it.)
Since we have something similar in sensibilities, I suggest you consider getting the hell out of California and experiencing a medium size city that isn't traditionally an Asian American hub. I've progressively grown to loathe California and, besides, we'd have more of an impact elsewhere. Portland? Durham? Nashville? Hotlanta? Just a suggestion.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Law Schools myself.
University of Tennessee - waitlist
Washington University - still waiting
University of the Pacific(only if I have to) - still waiting
University of Oregon - still waiting
University of Illinois - rejected
Penn State - still waiting
And I just learned I have ADD. Just my luck. I could have had modified rules for the LSAT.
