I need to buy an good photo printer for my PowerMac G5. I am so confused on which one to buy.

I was looking at the HP Photosmart 8250 that was just released. Any thoughts on this printer?

What model is the best (Canon, Epson, or HP)? A lot of people have told me that Epson is the best for photos, then others say Canon, and then others say HP.

Please help me decide!

Which printers are the best "Mac friendly" as far as software gors too?

i have the epson r800 and it works fine with my mac. it's a great printer, prints my b/w images beautifully, and color too. my only regret with the purchase is that it only prints a maximum paper width of 8 1/2 inches and sometimes i'd like to print larger. but no problems with the interface.

good luck with your purchase 🙂

I like Epsons too. At school I have used the Photo Stylus P2200 its really nice but also expensive.

I have my eye on Epson R1800 it prints on paper up 13" wide.

Another vote for Epson. I have an RX500, which is an All-in-one that has the same printer as the R200 and 300. Photo quality is amazing.

Also, people around here love helping, but searching before you post really helps cut down on duplicate threads. I know I've answered this question several times before. Not to be mean, just so you know for next time 🙂

Good luck with your printer search!

Another vote for the R800, R1800, or R2400 depending on your budget, and how often you change between matte and glossy paper.

I wouldn't buy an Epson photo printer but have a Stylus Color all-in-one. Canon photo printers are much better with saturation and gloss, esp. the 8 ink printers like the i9900 that I have.

Hi, I would go with the Canon and Amazon has a great deal on one, i6000d I think. 6 ink tanks and a display. If I didn't have my i960 I'd grab this one but if your $$$ is able to spend more the i9900 is very nice 😀

Help with Epson r-800

Just got the r-800 and am having problems with color sync and printing borderless in iphoto (but not with PS elements). Not sure if I'm using paper profiles correctly. If any r-800 users would care to share their print procedures I would greatly appreciate it.

I would actually say the canon ip5000 series instead of the 6000 series damn fine printer and 1 picoliter drops instead of the 2 found on the 6000 or at least thats how it was last year.
