Hey guys I googled Macbook Pro and apparently there's a company that paints the cases to give you a variety of colors. Am I crazy by digging this, or is anyone else out there feelin this? You can buy a brand new MB or MBP for a big price or you can send yours in. It's costly, but I think it's friggin sweet. Check it out:

PS I added a poll because poll's are fun.

The ones I like is Carbon and Dragon. The Steel makes the MacBook Pro look like the MacBook which is cool too.

I like Wet, mainly because I like Blue.... I should have done a Poll on "which color would you get."

Some of those cases are pretty nice. A black MacBook Pro would be quite nice, but I do like the silver of the MacBook Pro, makes it look sleek and sexy. But for a MacBook, colors would be pretty cool. I'm not sure if it'd be worth the money though.

I'm partial to the unadulterated brushed aluminum... so, no.

On a related note, who in their right mind would order a Macbook from this site configured "Smoke White" or "Jet Black"?

For $500, getting your MBP is soooo not worth it. I'd just buy a snap on case at that point.

If I had money to burn I'd get a glossy black Macbook Pro.

I don't have money to burn, it'd still be awesome though. :)

I don't like the idea of paying extra money to paint a laptop, so no.

But if MBPs came in a variety of tinted metals, like ipod nanos, I'd like that.

I've always thought it'd make good sense for Apple to release the Macbook in the same colours as the Nano.

Not that I would necessarily go for the color, but I thought there might have been a green MBP to promote the new LED screens since they are better for the environment. If nothing else they could have used a mock one for promotional purposes, you know a "greener Apple". Just a thought...

Too costly in my opinion. I wonder what kind of business that website gets with their outrageous prices anyway. As far as the Macs, I have seen a lot of setups on this forum and elsewhere and have yet to see a mac colowared.

Oh ho, so you're the person M$ polled to determine the colour of their Zune. :D

the reason why it's sooo expensive is because they match apple's basic warranty, meaning when they paint it they void apples warranty, so they must offer their own warranty. and then they have to make a profit on top of that.

apple should just skip the middleman and offer a wide array of colors. i wanted a colorware computer a long time ago, but just cant justify the costs when that extra dough could beef up your computer...

I like the Crush (Orange) and the two red ones. I'd probably pick one of those.

I'd rather do it myself though. After the warranty ends with a few cans of Krylon Fusion and the right screw drivers.

Would not look right on my blackbook's finish, plus I already got the color I wanted, black!

Coloware is supposed to do a really good job, but $500 is still too much. I could do it myself in an afternoon for about $25 in supplies.

seems pretty expensive and I'd think the paint would scratch off fairly easily if not properly protected via invisible shield or a hard case idk seems like more work than it's worth. I'll be fine with my MBP and a speck case to keep it from scratching. I like the invisible shield on my iPod, but it seems like not enough for the MBP, gotta have that dent protection man!

some of the colors do look nice, but really, $500 is an awful lot.

I suppose that $150 would be my upper limit.

it's not just the color, but it is also the scratch-resistance of the job. Of course, if you drop it, no paint is "dent-proof"

I'd rather get my Aluminum laser etched. It's a lot more personalized, not to mention unique.
