I think if this movie focuses more on Steve at his return to Apple post '97, then it has a good chance of not being overshadowed by pirates of silicon valley, which imo nailed the 80s era of Apple and the woz-steve relationship, and I feel like they could only screw that part up with this movie.

it seems the new coloured iphones stem from the original apple logo too. goes along with the whole theme of company identity they have established recently including the commercials

Wait, so you're telling me that both the original Apple logo AND this poster.... both use color? No way.

My first impressions of this film weren't high, but the recent trailer genuinely looks excellent. Really looking forward to seeing this, and from the clips I've seen, Kutcher does play an excellent Jobs (well, at the very least, he looks a lot like him!) :D

I have to agree with this. I'm still locked-in with Pirates of Silicon Valley as the gold standard but I may just give the Kutcher movie a watch...after it hits home video. Love the poster, looks very "Jimmy Hendrix" style.

Hope in the American release Kutcher's voice is dubbed with Japanese voice actors.

After viewing this poster I just watched the trailer. It does look interesting. (As does the poster)

As appleisking pointed out, Pirates of Silicon valley did a pretty good job of telling the story of Apple up until 1997. If this can span his entire life (which I believe it will) hopefully we'll get a nice view of Apple post-1997 and up until a few years ago. Of course this film is centered around Steve Jobs, Apple will be a huge part of it, although I am curious if they will touch on NeXT and Pixar too. I hope they do.

Not sure if I'll run out to see it, but I'll watch it... even if to see all the old Apple tech in the background of the sets. :D

I've wanted a sort of sequel to Pirates of Silicon Valley. That movie ended abruptly, and also predates a ton of cool stuff. I hope this movie delivers.

Absolutely, it did end abruptly leaving me wanting more. Seeing as the Kutcher movie is dating back when Jobs and Apple began I'm not sure if the director of the movie will be able to bring it more current with today's Apple without extending the movie. I for one am not too crazy about many of today's movies being 3+ hours long.

Odd poster design - psychedelic colours perhaps suggesting a narcotic focus to the film?

Jobs. The title cleverly symbolises two things:
1) who made Apple what it was today (with emphasis on the 'was')
2) what Apple Staff will be looking for in 2014
He made the company with forward vision and innovation.
They lost the company with blinkered vision and laurel-resting.
It will be a great and timely warning to other companies who think the public will be happy with rehashed versions of the original ideas that created that success:mad:

I wonder if Peter Max will sue?

Delayed release, mixed reviews, increased last minute panicked marketing push = not a good sign.

A well edited trailer can make anything appear interesting and a lot better than it actually is. From the looks of it, they did a haphazard job in pre-production and production. Now they are having to spend more on post-production and marketing in order to hide the fact that it's mediocre tripe with the main purpose of cashing in on Steve Jobs' death before the authorized film is released.

I will be surprised if the final product is anything but movie of the week quality.

As much as I respect your opinion, I find that to be an incredibly pessimistic remark. I simply hold cautious optimism for this film, and if it was all about money then they wouldn't have taken so much time on post-production.

Also, the whole "cashing in on Steve Jobs' death" really is a terrible thing to say. You should be ashamed.

That's my point ;) I wouldn't say that either but that is what's quoted. Not sure if it's from the movie poster (I don't see it) or from the story.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was too lazy to quote the article myself so i used you. :p
