"Colors, Awake!" is a tool that helps you turn an ordinary photo into a piece of art with minimum effort. It works with you to select areas within a photo as intelligently as it can through your simple taps on the screen of your device. The resulting selected area will keep the original color of the photo while the rest of the photo was turned black and white to make the selected area or object to stand out from the less interesting background. With a photo displayed on your device, you make the selection by tapping the screen of your device with your finger at a spot that is representative of the desired object or area. After the tapping, the app will make an intelligent selection based on the color and other information collected from around the point of contact. The user interface of the app is almost self-evident: － With the first tapping, the whole original colored photo will be turned into black and white except for the selected area. － With each additional tapping, more areas will be selected in the same way as described above and merged with the selections made previously to reveal the original color of the photo. － If a selection was made by mistake, click the "Undo" button to go back to the previous selection. With the current version of the app, you can go back only once. Going back more steps will be made possible with a future version soon. － During the selection process, you can click the "Original" button to see the original colored photo for up to a few seconds. － If the selections made with the default setting of the app tend to be more than what you desire, click the button with the "-" sign to make future selections more stringent. － If the selections tend to be less than what you desire, click the button with the "+" sign to make the selection more comprehensive. － The result of your artistic creation can be save onto your device by clicking the "Save" button. － Click the "Open" button to load a photo from your device. The app utilizes the research results from fields such as image processing and pattern recogition and adjusts its behavior continuously based on user interactions.
