That will be Apples reply to it not having retina. But it comes in clolors! And people will overlook the lack of retina because they can get mini in pink.

Imagine this but an iPad nano.

You just described my wife. Which is a good point, I don't think most mini buyers will be "overlooking" the fact that its not retina. They simply won't care. This is the crowd who was waiting for a non-retina version to come out, so they can experience the iPad for less than $400. If you want Retina, buy an iPad 3.

I think the color range of the new Touch cheapens the model. The black one is nice but the others look like toys. The new Nanos look cheap and toylike too. I'm hoping they keep the upscale look of the ipad for the mini.

I actually embrace the idea of giving the iPod Touch color options. But I do hate those ugly ass pastel colors they went with. Look a few posts above, for the 4th-generation Nano ad, those were fun and vibrant colors and I would have LOVED to have seen those colors instead of these new hideous colors. They remind me of the ugly pastel colors they used for the 3rd-generation Nanos. Remember that hot mess?

I also dislike how they implemented it. The white face on both, the Touch and Nano, makes it look like a cheap plastic toy. The only one that looks nice and sleek is the black version, for either model. I think they should have kept a black face for the colored Touches and Nanos.

Thinking about it, the logistics of supply alone would make it unreasonable. But a guy can dream right?

Depends they could do
A)
3 Connectivity options
3 Capacities and
2 Colours
for 18 options.
or
B)
3 Capacities
6 colours
and make them all wifi & 3G world cellular (cheap chipset).
for 18 options.

the Main iPad runs on option A.
Why not make the mini option B to test market forces?

Best Buy has already received information regarding the iPad Mini. I asked my supervisor today about it and he confirmed that they will come in a variety of colors like the new iPod touch.

No way Best Buy has that kind of information. Not possible.
