Combined processing?

Can I use both my Powermac G5 and my macbook together to theoretically render video at 4.0 GHz (2GHz each) My macbook is dying trying to render long vids in final cut.

1) Clockspeed is a terrible way to measure actual computing throughput

2) Depends on the software you are using. Final Cut Studio might be able to, iMovie certainly cannot.
