of possible I will get something that works with homekit and smartthings and hopfully alexa to cover the bases. But just found a smart mousetrap. It zaps them then sends a notice to dump it and reset it. It went off a couple hours after I set it up but I think it was a spider as there were spiders around the around 2:30 I was sent another notice. Yep mouse that looked like a Frankenstein imitation just dump it over the garbage flip the switch off and on and ready to go again.

Mouse trap isn't defined as one of the specific supported device profile for HomeKit, but I'm sure the trap activation could be classified as a sensor detection. Then it's just a matter of the manufacturer adding the HK support, or the end-user attaching a HK-compatible sensor on the trap.

It is just a open/close device. That's what apple will never do is let people write to code to add things. It is not supported in smartthings but someone wrote the code otherwise it was just seen as a window sensor.

$80 for a mouse trap? Why are you living in a mouse infested house if you have that much money to burn?

Isn't it just a sensor that lets you know the trap has been activated? If so, without any executable code what is the point of HomeKit integration? Seems an app could just as easily send you a notifications that the trap has been activated.

While I can see the usefulness of the product if you have a major mouse/rat problem (can clean and rearm it ASAP) I don't see how adding it to HomeKit would be beneficial.

I recommend Decon if you don't have children or pets that will get into it. Decon is also not HomeKit ready. :)
