I'm so excited for this. How about you guys?
Comets are very tricky to predict. Unfortunately, so many of them that are predicted to become very bright only do so when they're very close to the sun, making them difficult (if not impossible) to see - I remember looking at Halley back in 1986 and wondering what the big deal was.
Hopefully this one will stay intact and give us a good look. The last great comet I remember seeing was Hale-Bopp around 1997, and it was a wonderful sight. Hopefully this one gives us at least that good a look.
Yes - I'd heard about this one and am looking forward to it.
Quite glad we don't have farms of man-eating plants around though...
Love comets and this would be great.
Halley was just a little smudge that you could only see with binoculars. Hale-Bopp with the two tails was awesome!
Hale-Bopp was awesome back then. I hope this report is right. If so it should be a fantastic show.
Yeah I keep imagining a Game of Thrones style comet, hope it happens.
I'm having fond memories of Hale-Bopp. I hope this doesn't disappoint!
Agreed. Can't wait to see it.
This is so cool.
...I'm a little worried, myself.
I really think that it's great that if the comet delivers it's a "once in a civilizations lifetime" event.
It's so special. So cool.
