I'm enjoying my AW S9. I've noticed an improvement in music syncing time from my S5 and even S7, which is very important to me as in the past, I've mainly used my AW for listening to music at the gym. I also recently switched back to iOS after trying Android for a few years and as a result I'm wearing my AW all day and night now for health tracking. I only take it off when showering or recharging.

The issue I'm having is that the stock sport band gets very uncomfortable after many hours of wear. What other band is the best for all day comfort? I think I'm going to use the stock sport band at the gym and I'm looking for 1 band for work and another for sleeping. Or if there's 1 band that I can use for work and sleep, that's fine too. Happy to get your feedback.

This is my Aluminum AW S9 in Midnight:

I'm considering this Sport Loop for sleep (and maybe work too):

There is no band more comfortable than the Sport Loops (except the Trail Loops). I've got four Sport Loops and two Trail Loops.

I have the Sport Band that came with my S6 in a drawer somewhere and forgotten. It turned out the Sport Band trapped sweat, which gave me a rash.

The only downside to the Sport Loops is that they stay wet if they get wet. But if you have two, a swap is easy.

Ditto Sport Loop. Pretty much all day, everyday for me. Switch them after a workout.

I'll put on a knock-off Nike sport band when the Loops are in the washer or doing anything where hands will get really dirty, but that will be the extent for any silicone bands for me: too sweaty and in general either too loose or too tight (can't fine tune fit like a Loop).

Despite being uncomfortable, the Sport Band is really good for exercise because of how easy I clean it with isopropyl alcohol. I was thinking about using the Sport Loop for exercise too but I was also wondering how it would not dry very easily, hence using it for anything but exercise.

I agree the sport loops are probably the most comfortable, plus the ability to adjust the fit more precisely. They are also harder to slip on and off, it sounds minor but it’s enough to keep me from wearing the one I have most of the time.

To OP’s situation though, I agree with others’ recs for the Nike sport loops especially for gym / sweaty situations. Having 2 of them to easily switch out sounds like a great idea.

It’s personal preference to a large extent, but I found the Nike Sport Bands to be super comfortable for all purposes.

I am happy enough with the Alpine Band too. I wear the Ultra when I’m sleeping (I know, impossible according to some) and that’s usually the band I wear when not working out. Sometimes for working out too, but in the summer working out outside it is the Nike for sure, with the breathing holes.

I've been wearing the Sport Loop for the last two days and it is far more comfortable than the Sport Band. For some reason I'm still feeling some discomfort right below the sensor but that's not related to the band.

Loop is the most comfortable one but not good for swimming or exercise. This is getting wet and can be stinky and sirty with swear.

Yeps. I find the Nike ones with the holes leads to less accumulation of sweat. I wear them all the time except when going out somewhere fancy when I put on my gen 1 leather. Yes. It's still amazing !

Still have my gen 1 black leather band too. Almost never wear it though. The sport loops and bands are more practical. Nice when you want a fancier look though.

I've had both sport loops and trail loops and like them both. right now I'm using a trail loop. Definitely more comfortable all day wear than metal or silicone.

Chiming in to recommend the nike band as well. I find the holes really help with ventilation and allowing sweat to dry more easily, which is important because of my sensitive skin and my tendency to sweat a lot.

For the AW S9 45mm I bought stretchy woven and stretchy braided nylon bands from Amazon (brand Daqin). A 3 pack of woven nylon was ~$9 Cdn and a 5 pack of braided bands was ~$19 Cdn. They’ve got a buckle for adjusting the length and that’s it. Pretty simple and cheap.

It’s comfortable. I take it off at 10 pm to charge. Haven’t tried the ither bands I bought (Milanese loop clone bands - they don’t look comfortable, but that’s just me).

Only issue I have with the nylon stretchy band is that my new kitten tries to chew on it while charging.
