Comiczeal is great however bit recently had an update which skewed all file images off centre to the right, I am unsure if this has been patched as of this time as I resynched the app from my iMac to downgrade to the previous version which worked fine.

The fix is on the way, but for now there is a workaround it seems: https://comiczeal.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/67-pages-are-now-off-center-with-new-update

Edit: the update with this fix has been released.

There is an issue with back up though. 700 cbr files on my comiczeal pushed my iPad back time to over 14 hours, after deleting all files from my iPad back up wasvdown to 6 mins. I hope this bug can be fixed.

Unfortunately, this is a problem which lies within itunes... it's not only comiczeal which is having this problem. goodreader suffers from it too, so is zinio or any app with lotsa small files.

Hello,
I have a Comic specific question. I have many cbr files and am aware of the various comic reader apps available. What I want to know is has anyone actually transferred their own Cbr files onto the Ipad (how?) and had success viewing them in any comic reader? How are the files organized? I plan on using the ipad for ebooks and Comics primarily. Just to clarify I do not care about the Marvel app that lets you read their comics for a fee. I am talking about my own personal cbr files on any app that will display them.
Thanks
hi I downloaded comicrack from apps I also down loaded it on my computer then I transferred all my cbr files into it 1tb worth and then you sync your device and just sync your comics it is great and I have never had a problem with it

Comic Glass is by far the best comic viewer for the ipad. It does everything well. rename files, create folders, wirelessly download your comics from network storage, multiple viewing preferences, background preferences, and it reads cbr, cbz, PDF, etc, even if you made them yourself. I also love the front end. It looks just like iBooks with the shelf space. Fast search through your library, create your own covers on the fly, etc.

It's brilliant.

Oh, and don't let the App Store manga images throw you off. the program was designed by a Japanese developer, but it works perfectly with standard comics. The developer also updates it frequently. It's one of the best apps on the App Store, and the best of any comic reader I've tried.

I will second that ..Comic Glass is by far, the best comic reader available on iOS, Android, or Windows tablets . Not only does it handle multiple formets, but it is super configurable as well. For example, if you want to tap the left edge to advance to the next page instead going of the previous page you can do that. In fact, you can assign an action to the left corner, another action to the left middle, and a third action to the left bottom! It's insane how configurable this program is.

Why is that important you ask? Well, I'm handicapped and can't use my right hand. Usually I sit at a table to use my ipad, but when I sit in the car or on the sofa, the iPad is in my lap. Reading comics, I rarely go back to the previous page...most of the time I just need to go to the next page. On my ipad, I have it set so that tapping the left, bottom or right edge goes to the next page. If I want to see the previous page, I simply tap the top edge. No other comic reader out there can you do this. And that is just a small portion of what you can do with this reader.

Forget about comicrack, comiczeal, comical, and everything else. I only wish it was available on Android as I recently bought a Tab Pro to see how the other half lives and sadly, Comic Glass isn't available. The best comic reader on Android looks to be ComiCat and it isn't capable of even a quarter of what Comic Glass can do.

Holy necro thread resurrection, Batman!

That said, +1 on ComicGlass. I've been using that one since 2011 (iPad 2).

@buffilm
I use Perfect Viewer for Android. Very configurable. Assignable tap functions, too.
