8 Plus. Am I crazy? I had a Pro Max in my cart and I can't do the $45-$55/month payment on a phone. Just can't do it. 11 would be nice if the resolution was better. My daughter has an XR and it's ok. I'm coming from a Pixel 3XL. BTW using the the extra funds for a Series 4 watch.

The display on the XR is not bad at all. Your getting nit picking. I have noticed no real difference. Yes OLED and LCD are completely different. I would def opt to getting the 11. Your getting everything except the telephot lens and maybe some more battery but the XR lasts already a long time

I had the 8 as a company phone before. I wanted to have the X, but the 8 really grew on me. If I wasn’t into video/photography that much, I would definitely consider the 8 for myself again, considering the crazy price

Yeah, I don't take many pictures, some video at concerts sometimes.

The 8+ is an outstanding phone, and a pretty good value right now. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one. Also check out other retailers and see who has the best incentives. There should be great deals now on the 8 series phones.

It's dated.

I’m in the same position as the OP. I’m not bothered about the IPhone 11. The last iPhone I had was the iPhone 6s Plus and after that I went to android. The 8 plus is looking tempting.

I went to look at one today and compared it with the XR. Kinda worry I’ll miss my Touch ID as I love it on my iPad. My android phone has a finger print scanner and face recognition and I never use face recognition. It’s too cumbersome. But on the other hand the contract I’m looking at is a three year one, I would be wary of apple stopping supporting the 8 plus midway through my contract.

You can get 256gb iphone x/xs for around the same price you can get a iphone 8 on sites like swappa.

8+ does 80% of what the new phones do, just in a very antiquated and boring form factor. It works for me, but I can definitely see people who have owned iPhones for years being bored of it (6+/6s+/7+/8+). It’s my first iPhone, so I don’t feel the same way as someone who has had this form factor for 4 years and counting. The value is definitely very high.

It's dated.

No it is not dated at all. The 8 Plus is a beast to this day. Super premium in the hand, very classy, wireless charging, glass back, and a super efficient A11 Bionic that runs right on the heels of the A12.

It is 12 months older than a XS Max.. and like 2 months older than a iPhone X.

This form factor of the iPhone 8 is still in full swing! With 2019 iPad Air, 2019 iPad mini and, 2019 iPad 7th gen too.

My parents were Android users with the S7. I recently got them to switch to the iPhone and they picked the SE. They really like the ease of use and small form factor.

Apple makes a good product that last for several years.

It most certainly is dated looks wise. No question about it. This form factor came out in 2014, and hasn’t changed much at all from the 6+ to the 8+ in terms of appearance. The a11 is still relevant, but the phone looks very out dated (for those who care about that)

I have an 8+ and it’s still great but I would spend the extra money on 11. It’s better in every way (except screen resolution and telephoto lens) and will last longer.
The 11 hasn’t got a bad screen and I’m not sure under what circumstances I would pick resolution over the features it’s lacking.
I guess the telephoto is nice but i think realistically I used it a few times at a guns and roses concert, which unsurprisingly resulted in crappy videos anyway.

That is what I did. Sold my XR and got an 8+. Just personal preference.
