Just got my Xs max and I am loving it sort of. It’s just everything seems to take twice the effort. Why have they made it so you have to push the power button and volume button to turn phone off is there a setting to change this? Is there anyway to just press power button look at phone to unlock without swiping up? Also would it not of been better to put the WiFi symbol by the time and put battery percentage next to battery symbol instead of swiping down. Other than that best phone I’ve ever owned battery is awesome .

You can also shut the phone down using settings/general scroll to the bottom and hit shut down. Not easier but the side button on the X, Xs and Max is actually the way to activate Siri/Apple Pay due to the lack of the home button.. Your second issue is there a way to go straight to homescreen when unlocking the phone is no. When you wake the screen and it unlocks, all your notifications are displayed without having to go to the homescreen and then swipe to the notifications screen. It’s just a different interface and I’m sure you’ll get used to it eventually...

I will get used to it lol. Just find it weird how you have to press 2 buttons to turn phone off after all it’s a power button ha. I would of thought they could of come up with another way to activate Siri but hey small sacrifice for a great phone.

Apple never intended it to be a power button..

I Definitely preferred Invoking Siri with the home button versus with the power button on the iPhone XS. Even though Apple elongated the power button on the iPhone XS, it’s somewhat of a reach, because it is a larger phone, and the home button on the older iPhones was more manageable in quickly reaching it.

First thing I did when getting my X was disable activate Siri with side button... I just use “hey siri”

I would of thought they could of come out with another way to activate Siri. Like long press the volume button or hold down on the gesture bar so we could just have a normal power button.

I was activating siri all the time unintentionally and finally got sick of it... Sometimes I use that button to wake or put the display to sleep...

I do as well. I use hands-free Siri through hands free quite frequently.

{Side note: I really hope Apple improves Siri with iOS 13, and I know that they hired Google’s artificial intelligence director with John Giannandrea, as I use dictation every day with Siri.}

You and me both! I would love to be able to utilize siri for much more than I do now.. I think you’re right about improvements in iOS13

How do you normally wake your phone? I always wake it that way. I used to use double tap but battery seemed worse for me
