Comm + Shift + 4 images won't upload

I can't upload cropped, snap shot images to sites like www.tinypic.com and Facebook.

'Upload Failed! Invalid format (jpg|bmp|gif|pcx|png|psd|tif)'

Can you open them in Preview without problems?
What Mac OS X version do you use?

The default format for screenshots is .png which is a pro-format not widely supported by fora etc. Convert pics to .jpg first.

What do you crop them with?

Try appending the file extension to the cropped photo.

i.e. Instead of "Picture 1", try "Picture 1.png" or "Picture-1.png"
