Hello there

I will have a company voucher of 600€ to buy a new phone, like every 2 years. In my country, the iPhone 17 is 969€. I can use only this voucher in a boutique, unfortunately.

I have an iPhone 16 for work and an iPhone 15 Pro for personal. I can sell one of them to cover the cost of the full price of a brand new iPhone.

Between these options, what would you recommend:

  1. Buy iPhone 17 for 969€ for professional use
  2. Buy iPhone 17 Pro for personal use
  3. Wait for iPhone 18 Pro

Phone usage is regular, I mostly use my personal phone for pictures and videos while on holidays. I don’t like the battery life on my 15 Pro, but I can change the battery even though it’s not yet under 80%, I believe. I also bought an extra battery (company voucher also, through work council).

If you are overall happy with your 15 Pro and just need to get the battery changed, then do that and get 18 Pro end of this year.
If you feel the battery won’t get any better after the change then get a 17 Pro.

Yes what Tsepz said is solid advice. 15 Pro is a good phone, i agree its battery is not great when down to 90% and below, so if you can get a new battery it will perform like brand new until the 18 Pro is released.

I tried to do the exact same thing, but Apple kept messing me about when i tried to get my 15 Pro battery changed and also the 128 GB storage was running out.

I'm using my 15 Pro and have developer beta 26.3 installed and so far has been able to do everything I have thrown at it. At this point, I would get a new battery for your 15 if you have been pleased with it's performance so far and wait it out for the upcoming 18 Pro as there will be more changes, especially with the camera system. I have a feeling this would be the wait you want unless you are looking for a 17 device for the time being and selling it when the 18 comes out.
