Hey could someone offer me a little help here? A friend of mine got a new iBook and is trying to get an all-in-one printer from Compaq (A3000 is model) to work. So far I have been unable to get a driver, they dont have one for Mac at their site. So does anyone have a way around this? All she really wants is the printer to work, it doesnt need to scan and all that, just print. Thanks for the help.

you would think it would, but i have tried plenty of things and none of it has worked yet. total pain. though i swear i saw some third party one a while back, just cant find it now.

According to these people, the A3000 isn't compatible with much. No Compaq printer is explicitly supported by GIMP-Print. It may emulate something else for which there is a GIMP-Print driver or even a standard MacOS X driver. However, that will require some research on your part.

Lexmark made it for Compaq. You might try using Lexmark drivers and see if any of them will work.
