can someone please give me more info about the performance of the new video card

    ati radeon HD 4670

vs the old one (nvidia GT 120/GT 130)

will the ati do better for graphical perf / decoding HD videos?

thx, seems like the new ati 4670 is pretty good, and way better than nvidia GT 1xx for games

i'm also looking for info about decoding videos

because some video cards are really good for games but suck for decoding videos

Yea it seems that the 4670 is a better card then the GT 130. Its too bad Apple decided to cripple the 4670 by only putting 256megs on the card.

you have looked at the barefeats tests?

im betting the 4670 is close to the 130, cause it cant be better than the 4850?

    "graphics performance" is kinda vague?

What are you using to decode now? What are you really expecting to get out of this new Mac.

You arent going to get hours of savings...

^Off topic (as I know very little on the subject), do you currently own all of the iMacs in your sig?

I was under the impression that the 4670 fell between the GT 120 and GT 130.

I don't know about the notebookcheck charts. As far as I know, the GT 130M and 8800M GTS are practically the same card, and yet they're separated by about 10 cards on the notebookcheck charts.

We'll have to wait for the iMac to be benchmarked, but I expect the GT 130 from the previous generation iMac to beat the 4670, which means the 4670 will make a POOR card for anyone but a casual gamer at the 2560x1440 resolution of the 27" iMac.

For someone looking to game, I don't think there's a better deal on the market right now than the refurb 8800GS iMac. Personally, if I can justify the purchase, I'll be waiting for the 27" Core i5 4850 iMac to hit the market, although I'm sure I'll be waiting until at least January.
