Hi I am a new mac user and very pleased with my mac but stumble occasionally. I tried to down load some video's but cannot play them because they are windows compatible also I have created my cv in gmail but some websites won't accept pdf files and cannot change my file to a suitable format any tips please?

You'll want to install Perian codec pack, this helps with tons of formats playing in Quicktime, iTunes, Frontrow, etc. Then install VLC and the free version of Flip4Mac at the least and that will help with .asf, and .wmv.

As for your CV, download OpenOffice Suite for Mac known as NeoOffice, and install it. This is extremely similar to Microsoft Office and can even save Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations in the MS Office Formats (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, etc.)

Hope these help out.
