I am running Microsoft Word 2008 on my MacBook (running Leopard as the OS). Word gives me the option to save files as PDFs.

When I try to open the file I can view it normally but when I print it spits out a bunch of junk (random characters). I'm printing on a computer running Windows XP

At first I thought it was the original font but that shouldn't matter if its saved as a PDF.

Any hints or tips or do I need to update my Acrobat Reader on my XP comp?

That is strange since the idea of PDF is to be able to replicate a document whether it is being shared electronically or printed.

If you haven't already, try upgrading Acrobat Reader since it's free anyway.

Try searching for a PDF document, then view and print it. See if you get the same results.

Also check if there is an update to your printer drivers.
