    Hi everyone

I am running a mac pro 1.1 with 32gb of ram and OS X 10.10 currently with a pc 8800gt. i found a seller locally who has an AMD Radeon 6670 with 2gb of video memory. I would like to know if this card would be supported in my mac with Yosemite and if it would be a great improvement of graphics capability.

    Thanks so much!

You will need to search and see if anyone is running one. Search also the Hack forums. Another thing to do would be to look for the device id in the AMD driver kexts.

more involved than that. Search for the thread about getting 7850 or 7750 working. It's device id wasn't in the kext for awhile .

Hey there - I have a hack running a 6670, no issues, though it is a hack. However, the card is quite weak, in my opinion. If you've already got Yosemite on your 1,1 I would spring for something a bit more powerful. R9 280 is a popular choice, I run a GTX 460 in my 1,1 - got it on eBay for $40.
