Hello, for those who travel a lot and make public presentations in many places:

Many years ago, Apple laptops were prefered over Windows laptops because there was no compatibility issue with public projectors for presentations. They just worked. How about MacBook Air + USB-C to HDMI Adaptor? With this combo, any connection issue with public projectors?

For 1080p (which is most business projectors), the adapters work well. The biggest problem is that they’re so easy to lose. Buy two so you have a spare.

If you want 4K output, you might want to consider buying a MacBook Pro, which has native HDMI 4K output, although you might get 4K30 via dongle.

I should add… pre-pandemic, we gave presentations in our meeting rooms with HDMI projectors, and I was really happy when Apple put the HDMI back into MacBook Pro. I left those dongles in the conference rooms all the time! That’s why I suggest having two dongles on hand.
