I want to go cheap for a monitor but I want to know what monitors are compatible with the 10.5x operating system on the new Mini. So what have users actually tried that work?

I haven't had a DVI or VGA monitor that I couldn't get working on an Intel-based Mac. I currently use Samsung and Dell monitors but have connected to Acer and Westinghouse low-end displays at the office or client locations with no difficulties.

I have got a Acer P223WD 22" hooked up to my new 09 mac mini through dvi. The picture as brilliant after a small amount of calibration. Just plugs straight in with the cables supplied. 😀😀😀

Milk a few extra $$$ from us diehard Mac fans before coming out with HDMI capable systems 6-12 months from now so we've had time to save money, sell our existing Macs and buy new HDMI-equipped versions of our toys.
Until then, my 1080p 16" Vaio with Bluray and HDMI out will have to suffice.
