I have downloaded the bubbleLevel sample code from the Apple website and would like to use it on my iPhone. I have been unable to compile the required *.ipa file type. Is it possible to compile an iPhone application with the *.ipa file ending on my local machine and use it on my iPhone without having to upload to the App Store? Thanks...

You have you pay $99 for the hardware SDK to be able to run compiled code like that on your phone.
