Complete data loss

So while trying to restore an erased mac book pro (mid 2012) from my time machine, I accidentally restored the time machine to MS OS x

Also, now the mac doesnt work at all. When I try and start it, it just shows me the apple logo and no progress on the progress bar

Any hope. or should I jump off the building?

Boot from an installation usb or time machine drive, enter disk utility, erase drive, restore backup.
