Hello-

I was trying to find a complete list of the cities that will be available tomorrow in 3D. I tried searching around but was only able to come up with a list from beta 1. If anyone could tell me the complete list in the iOS 6 GM it would be greatly appreciated.

Not true because it does not include NYC, a confirmed city by other websites.

Does 2D basically mean a standard satalite view? (I.e. what google has done for the best part of a decade) or something else?

Looks good. I'm in San Diego now. Moving to San Antonio in a couple months. Maybe it'll be updated by then. San Antonio that is.
 
Thats weird. Seems like they're updating the map right now.

Thank you everyone for the helpful replies. Unfortunately, my hometown does not have 3D yet but it does have 2D so maybe I won't have to wait that long. :D

Not exactly new, but Munich and Berlin (Germany) and NYC now also have 3D buildings in Standard View (not just Flyover and 2D)

Also I wanna mention, that i'd really appreciate Apple doing DriveThrough (I mean something like StreetView, hope, that when it comes it'll be called like this) along side FlyOver.

What are your thoughts on that?
 
It is worth noting that in many of these, the features extend to the surrounding areas also. Area surrounding Manhattan, area surrounding DC, etc.

So the list of cities, should be a list of "city areas"

I’d like that! Much better than Street View in theory.

As useful as Street View is (I find it very helpful about twice a month) it is also just plain awful in many ways. (If Apple made Street View the press would crucify it!) Image problems aside (want to read that sign? too bad) the worst thing is navigating from place to place in Street View. Excruciating. FlyOver is fast and instant, so I’d love to see it brought down to street level!

I’d say it’s inevitable that someone does that some day. I bet both Apple and Google will—eventually.
