I've looked around but can't find a complete list of supported email attachment types. The big ones are obvious (PDF, DOC, XLS, JPG, etc.), but I've found WAV files do not work (though they do natively in Tiger's Anyone have any experience with any other formats working/not working? Is there a complete list out there I'm missing?

Page 48 of the User Guide on the Apple Support site says:

Strikes me as odd that C++ source files are supported but Java files are not?!

I think .wav is one of those windows formats so not surprising they wouldn't want you to open it. :)

But that got me thinking so I tried sending an mp3 and it just shows an attachment icon. I'm not able to touch it or take any other action on it.

Here's the info from apple's site:

What types of email attachments can I view on iPhone?
iPhone displays most picture attachments (JPEG, GIF, and TIFF) in-line with the text in email messages. iPhone can also view PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel email attachments.

What's odd and depressing is the lack of support for iWork files.

Apple just doesn't get how vulnerable MS is on this front...sigh...
