Hi there, my MacBook has Recently completely frozen, I couldn't even turn it off. I then removed the battery and when I put it back in it was completely dead. I've been told that this is not down to the hard drive. Can anybody help me with this? I live 3 hours away from my nearest apple store. Thanks.

Is your macbook still under warranty? Take it to Apple for repair.
A dead HD will not stop the macbook from starting.

Agree, it should still start up and just give you the ?startup drive screen if it were an HD problem. Have you tried a PMU (power management) reset?
