No **** sherlock  how about you let the guy do what the hell he wants with his her laptop?

also, who gives a **** about the legality of installing OSX on a windows machine? There's a lot of people going on about Hackintoshes (hell I plan to build one).

Also, it probably isn't illegal to install OSX on a macbook running windows...because you're installing OSX for the hardware it was designed for. Seriously, you call yourself a fanboy and you can't even figure that out?

I am a big fanboy :apple: :apple: :apple:
:D

I mean you can't completely delete mac os x from your mac this with ruin your partition table and you can't install your OSX because the mac computer will think itself a PC:mad:. If you really want to install windows on your mac you can use bootcamp with partition your hard drive into two partitions that allow you to boot mac os x:apple: and windows by hold down option key on your keyboard when your mac start. Parallel:eek: and VMware:eek: are sucks because you can't play GTA San Andreas:D:D or other 3d games :apple::apple::apple::apple:

I love GTA:D:D:D

I know Office 2011 or 2008 both suck but office 2010 running in a VM works very well. Office 2010 runs smoother and much faster in the VM than 2011 on the native OSX.
Still running mostly Windows the best bet is to sell the Mac and buy an Elitebook like the 8560p. That offers decent trackpad drivers, superior chassis in some respect, a decent screen and good termals with good battery life.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Bootcamp + Parallels. End of story. No reason to remove mac os. Just make the os partition extremely small and you don't have to delete mac os. You will be wasting perhaps 10GB

Yea I was wondering how to do this too. I just recently bought a Ferrari, took out the engine, and replaced it with one from Kia. Now I want to do something else that is really stupid.

Congrats on a great decision! I just bought a mansion and decided to furnish it exclusively with the stuff they sell at Wal-Mart. Pretty stoked about that. I think it's toootally fine to get rid of OSX and install Windows as long as he uses Vista. Vista is pretty much the best OS ever.:D

Sir, I beg to differ, as Windows ME remains the most stable, friendly, well supported OS in the Universe. That's right! I said Universe!

You had all the hybrid greatness of DOS and Windows without the long-term stability of the NT Kernel.

Vista pales in comparison, I'm afraid...

Beg to differ. Your OSx install DVD can simply wipe the HDD. It doesn't matter what the partition table is - the install can simply wipe it.

Actually, you can. If I'm interpreting this correctly, You don't need to touch the partition table either; just delete your current partitions from the Windows 7 installer and format the thing as NTFS.

Saying that MBR will make a Mac think it's a PC is just silly. Disk Utility will warn you that the drive is not GUID and allow you to change it.

I stand corrected. Windows ME is the most stable, friendly, and well supported OS in the Universe. It makes me feel happy inside when it tells me multiple times in an hour that I don't have permission to do whatever I just did. I mean...it's my computer, but the OS is probably right...How foolish of me to try to look at a web site. I'm actually going to wipe my Macbook Pro completely clean and install Windows ME. Then I'm totally canceling my high speed internet connection and signing up for America Online. :D

Re-replacing mac os x with windows

Well, first of all. There is nothing wrong with replacing Windows for a Mac OS since Windows does have more software support. And people who work need these tools in order to stay in production, and keep up with their daily tasks. A Mac OS is beautiful and all, but beauty and work does not necessarily go well, a need is a need and people simply need to go forward.

There is no need to sell a MacBook Pro or any other device/hardware upon needing Windows. Because first of all, you will probably never get what you paid for, Mac hardware is more expensive and people may not want to pay that much or simply can not afford it, and that's just the way it is. Not everyone can afford a Mac computer, and that is a proven fact. Those who already have it can still enjoy it's hardware having Windows, while having more software options/tools to work with.

Mac 4 Life

I don't need PC, bootcamp or other microsoft stuff because I got all the pc games ported on mac :cool:and microsoft office for mac plus keygen and full version of iWork

I'm sure there are tools/programs that are not available for OSX but there are generally alternatives. I have run most productivity tools in parallels and it's fine. I would not run Maya in a virtual but office c'mon. In OSX's case beauty and work do go together.

That's great 'n' all, buddy, but some people don't have a choice as to whether they use Windows or Mac. All those great games you've got were probably made on Windows computers by developers coding in C++ and artists using 3DS Max.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS PARTITION TABLE:D:p

I'm also have a macbook....The windows laptops are cheaper than macbook, why don't just buy the windows laptop. What the hell are you ****ing thinking that, replace mac os x completely and install windows and install the mac back after 1 year? You can't install mac os again after install windows because it is ilegal.

I'm a Apple big fan

Please learn english as I barely understand what you are trying to say.

DO NOT remove or erase the Mac OS X partition while booted to the Windows install DVD.
Here are the steps....
– Get a thumb drive and use Disk Utility to format it "MS-DOS" (FAT-32).
– Open Boot Camp Assistant.
– Follow the steps to download the "Windows support software" to the thumb drive.
– Unmount and unplug the thumb drive.
– Continue with Boot Camp Assistant to create the hybrid MBR partition called "BOOT CAMP".
– Insert the Windows DVD and lick the "Restart" button in the Boot Camp Assistant window.
– When it is done with all the copying files stuff that Windows installers do, select the "BOOT CAMP" and format it NTFS. DO NOT select the Mac partition for any reason.
– Install Windows.
– After a couple of restarts (Yes, Windows is still junky about installing), complete the setup of Windows.
– Insert the thumb drive and wait.
– When Windows asks if you really want to open the Boot Camp Setup, click "Yes".
– Install the Windows support software.
– For Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or older, boot to the OS X install DVD (could be marked "Disc 1").
– For OS X version 10.7 or later, boot to Recovery HD (Hold command and R keys during restart).
– Open Disk Utility and select the Mac OS X startup volume, select the "Erase" tab, select a format, and click the Erase button.

The format you select depends on whether you plan to install Mac read-write software in Windows or not. For Mac read-write software, such as Mac Drive or HFS+ For Windows (20 bucks), leave the format Mac OS Extended (journaled). Otherwise, choose MS-DOS. NOTE: This will result in poor efficiency for that partition. For much better efficiency, connect by Firewire or Thunderbolt to another Mac that has third-party NTFS software installed (read-write to NTFS), boot the Windows-Mac to target disk mode, and use Disk Utility to format the Windows-Mac's Mac partition as NTFS.
