Do you think Apple will add more complications in the future? Or allow app developers to make some?

What kind of complications would you like to see?

Complications? Do you mean functions? Apps?

I won't know until I get the watch and start using it.

Probably, off the top I might like last HR reading. Probably could think of lots more too.

No sure if they would allow developers to make Complications. Maybe in SDK 3 or wOS 3 but I doubt it will be in the next version.

I'm sure at one point, Apple will open up APIs, once they affirm what we have now, and the hardware (battery) improves.

It looks like the currently available watch complications (at least some of them) act as shortcuts into related apps, straight from the watch face. They seem to belong to those apps.

Maybe 3rd party apps have (or will have) the ability to export their own complications that can be incorporated into watch faces, much like iOS apps can put stuff into the Today view, etc.

Absolutely.

I think they will open up the API's and let developers plug right into them.

iOS8 opened up a lot to developers, and I think Apple will continue that with the Watch.

I think a bigger issue is adding complications to more watch faces. I was supremely disappointed that not all faces can have complications. The faces I wanted only let you have the date. Madness!
Absolutely no reason you can't have a jellyfish with the activity tracker circles in the corner and your next appointment at the bottom etc.
Madness!!!

Apps are big money. I have absolutely no doubt that there will be a plethora of apps both good and bad. Our issue won't be the lack of but how to choose the ones we want.

Huh. Learn something new every day.

I still prefer the term functions. Complications sounds rather negative.

With mechanical watches, "complication" sounds positive, richer.

But for an electronic smartwatch, you're right that "functions" makes more sense.

Jon Ive was just trying to be cool :)

That's an excellent idea.
