I have just switched from an iMac (2011) to a Mac mini M1. Stupid me didn't realise I couldn't record computer audio!
Is there anyone out there who know's of a workaround for this?

Try looking into SoundFlower. I don't know if it'll work with the M1, but I assume it will without being able to test it

Soundflower may not work on M1 or even Big Sur. However, it looks like Audio Hijack is updated for both. It's not free ($59), but it is a lot more functional than Soundflower.
