I currently have a Macbook pro for my work and such. My wife who only uses the internet and utilizes Iphoto program on my Imac at home. Thinking about a Mac Air for her for christmas. Would an Air be good enough given the fact we use Icloud storage? ... One other thing, she does very little photo editing just takes pictures on iphone and looks at them on photo..

Thanks

Really depends on how much you want to spend. Is a MacBook Air sufficient for what you describe, sure. But know this, the screens on the MBA are lower resolution than the rest of the Mac lines. So photos won't look quite as good.

If you have the money (and can tolerate the keyboard), you can get the 13" MacBook Pro with or without the touchbar. Just know that you'll need some sort of USB to USB-C adapter to connect your wife's iphone to transfer photos (unless you do it via wifi somehow).

When she takes pictures from her phone, they show on the photo app so I don't think I would need to transfer photos - I think I am right on this but correct me if I am wrong.... Thanks

Sounds like your wife has iCloud photo sharing turned on. I personally don't use it myself, but if it works for her, then great. Even so, if you use USB or thumbdrives, you'd need to get adapters (or new thumbrives). If it's not an issue, the MBP's have great retina screens. Much better than the MBA.
